Thyroid (and other tests, like the reactive protein whose-name-shall-not-be-spoken) come in and out of favour in the ED. In today's results pile were 41 TFTs from the last week - 7 had elevated TSH with normal T4.
Question: What do you think these results mean in a slightly hypotensive elderly patient with AF, but no clear history of other thyroid related symptoms? TSH13.2 (normal 0.35-4.5), Free thyroxine 20.8 ( normal 10.5-26)

So here are a couple of choice selections from results box this week. Some are pretty subtle, some less so. Apologies that the picture quality is not quite up to PACS, but it should be good enough.... Case 1: fall on to shoulder, very painful to examine, tender over scapula wing ?dislocation ?scapula #
