BOTTOM LINE:
Is the use of topical 1.0% tetracaine for 24 hours safe and effective for the treatment of uncomplicated corneal abrasions? Limited available data suggests that the use of dilute topical ophthalmologic proparacaine or tetracaine for a short duration of time is effective, though their safety for outpatient use is inconclusive. BOTTOM LINE:
Can we with the addition of a validated risk scoring tool safely discharge more patients who presents with low risk chest pain? Perhaps we can!! BOTTOM LINE:
FIB & 3-in-1 block are equivalent in reducing VAS pain scores in patients with fractured NOF. Emergency physicians can have confidence in either technique when relieving pain I patients who present with fracture NOF. BOTTOM LINE:
This study suggests simple stress testing identifies a small proportion of patients with acute chest pain and negative serial cTn for angiography with a view to revascularisation. The perceived clinical value of that proportion remains largely the subjective decision of the clinicians involved. |
