Objectives
Performing a surgical airway is not a procedure that is done very often (around 0.5% of all intubations). It may be a procedure that scares some of us. A lot of the anxiety lies around the decision to proceed. We have had 3 recent cases of patients who presented with airway obstruction that need a surgical airway.

- Use the opportunity to have a group discussion about the methods / skills / approaches taught to different specialities: EM vs anaesthetics vs ENT and the differences in expectations when called to resus to manage a patient who need FONA in an emergency.
- Review recent cases
- Refresh our knowledge of a procedure that none of us perform often
- Refresh our knowledge of the difficult airway algorithm and kit
